Mutation. Alex constantly absorbs and metabolizes any energy around him, from the energy of the sun, which is easiest, to electricity and other forces. His body can only absorb so much, however, and once his limit is reached, he has to release some. If he just lets go, it radiates out in all directions as a wave of plasma, which can make things explode, burn, melt, and shatter. If he concentrates, which is still pretty hard for him, he can channel it all in one direction, and send it out of his hands as a blast of concentrated energy.

Personality. Alex is an outgoing young man who wants to succeed in life, and find happiness. He feels that life is somewhat random, and bnad things can happen to anyone, anytime. He wants to help people, but he is no hero. His dreams of helping involve reading seismographs, repairing computers, and being the best person he can.

He is somewhat private about his personal life, buit willing to open the shell if he feels a connection. Life with the Masters taught him that you have to seize opportunity and go for it.

He loves surfing, which is his only disappointment with where he lives no.

History. The accident that crashed the plane carrying him and his family into the ocean left Alex unsure he had any family left, and sprung into a new life in Hawaii. Until then, he had been a happy member of a family. Now, what was he? Thankfully, he was to be lucky, and gain a new one.

From his childhood, where he lost his parents, then lost track of his brother, things looked bad, but then got good with the Masters, a good family who adopted him, and who really cared. They helped him figure out what he wanted and how to get it.

He got into surfing, computers, and rocks at about the same time. As his skill in one increased, so did the other two. He found a natural affinity for the waves and the rocks, and a learned one for the computers. But with mutant hysteria rising and his powers always on the edge of causing an accident, he left Hawaii where he had lived most of his life and found the mutant haven an irresistable draw.

He decided to come to New York City, continue his schooling at NYU, and maybe see if he could find others like him, and a place where he did not have to be afraid.

Third Person Writing Sample. Alex walked down the street, listening to his Z-Pod as he went. He was tired, and just wanted to get home. He’d been working at the computer shop after school, and it seemed like the moment he had stepped in it had gone busy supernova! Now he just wanted a shower and his bed. Or a beer.

Damn. Now he was thinking about beer. And he was out of beer! Man, but a beer sounded good, even if it did mean trekking to the bar, or to the local liquor market. Hm. That last was a good idea. Get some beer, and some cheesy sticks, and head home.

He changed direction, avoiding an idiot on a bicycle who apparently thought the sidewalks were his domain, and headed down a new street, turning his Z-Pod down. Even in Mutant District, there were idiots, he guessed, just like anywhere else.

His skin was tingling as he walked and he knew that was another reason not to stay out. At home he had a nice large piece of industrial steel wreckage, borrowed from a wrecked skyscraper, on which he could vent his powers. And they needed to be vented in a few hours. Damn them. He hurried a little faster.

By the time he got home, he felt burning along his skin, and shivering a little, and he rushed into his room, bag o purchases under one arm, box of beer under the other. In his room, door locked, he pulled the heavy piece of crap out and eyed it. Only a couple of more times of this before it would be gone and he would need to find something new. But for now . . . he placed his hands on it and groaned as he focused and the energy flared out of him. He concentrated on keeping it as pure plasma, not heated, and groaned as the burn of it flared down his arms and his hands, and into the metal.

When it was done, he slumped, and pushed the smaller piece of metal back into his closet. Bed now. He hated his powers. Hated them…

Sample Journal Entry. Private Locked: Another day, another dollar, and another crazy time to dodge mutant haters, and another race to release my powers before they kill someone.

I wish I had confidence this was going to get better, but by now I feel like it never will. Life is damn good, living here, working at the computer store, and going to NYU. But still, my powers seem to be the one thing I cannot get a hold on.

I was hoping to go to the Hellfire Club tonight, check out the scene, maybe even see if there were others there like me, people not physically changed enough to be outright seen as mutants, but who still have issues.

I could really use someone to talk to about now.

He was dropped in a new world, met, romanced, and married Lorna Dane, and found friendship with her father, the man who would have been Magneto in their homeworld. With the destruction of his home, and the subsequent events, Lorna and his lives have been thrown into turmoil, and life seemed fragile.

They relocated to a compound owned by Cable, on this reality's Genosha, and lived there until an incident when the babies of Cable and Domino were stolen. This, combined with an encounter with Purifiers, drove them to start thinking more seriously about the future, and consider adoption, as well as moving to Los Angeles to further education and career ideas.
